This weekend my boyfriend and I decided to have a much needed date night out in Charlotte. We wanted to wear something nice, sip on fancy drinks, eat new and interesting foods. Thankfully, his awesome parents surprised us with a gift certificate to one of the coolest Asian/American restaurants in uptown, Fahrenheit. Located on the 21st floor, above Skye Condos, Fahrenheit offers an almost complete view of the city skyline. And luckily, we snagged a window seat just in time for sunset!
To start, we cheers to a fun night with some yummy cocktails. He ordered a whiskey mule called No Sleep ‘Till and I ordered a raspberry specialty cocktail called Phoenix in Flames, mmmm. We heard from numerous people that the appetizers were especially good so we decided to skip the entrees and have a tapas party of our own. First were the massive Charlotte Nachos, next the Kobe Beef Short Rib Steamed Buns, then Negi Maki Egg Rolls, and finally the Wood Grilled Avocados. Everything was delicious and we were beyond full. Glad I was wearing a flowing and forgiving dress, haha.
Next, lover boy and I met up with our very own K Bendy and her husband for beers at NoDa Brewing Company. As usual, the tap room was packed and the craft brews were on point! I especially loved my Minty Thin Stout, a nod to the famously delicious Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies.
And because two stops wasn’t enough, we followed K Bendy’s husband to the Visulite Theater to see Of Good Nature, a local reggae/rock band. We sang and danced until our feet hurt and it was time for bed. All in all, Saturday turned out to be a top night out in Charlotte with my sweetie pie and great friends!
